Installing the game using "Autorun" a) Installing EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005 The easiest method of installing EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005 is to use the "Autorun" feature. Upon inserting the EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005 CD in your CD-ROM drive, the game will launch the EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005 "Autorun" screen. Click on "Install" to start the EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005 install process. b) Minimum required hard disk space You must have at least 1 GB free space on your hard disk when installing the game ("minimum" installation option). c) If "Autorun" is disabled If for some reason "Autorun" is disabled on your computer, you can install the program by running AUTORUN.EXE directly from the root directory of the CD. Note: The installation of a second EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005 (by starting the SETUP.EXE in the root folder of the CD) without uninstalling the original game data is not recommended. A new installation to the same path without uninstalling first, can also lead to problems. To avoid problems, “Autorun” should be used for all installs and uninstalls. It is not possible to install the game to the CD-ROM drive. 2. Minimum PC configuration If any problems arise, please check first of all that your PC complies with the following minimum configuration: Operating system Windows 98/2000/ME/XP (Windows 95 and Windows NT are not supported) Processor 700 MHz Intel Pentium III processor (or equivalent) Memory 128 MB RAM (256 MB minimum for Windows 2000/XP) Video card 32 MB (PCI/AGP) Video card (see section 10 for supported video cards) HDD space 1 GB free hard disk space before installation (for minimum install size) CD ROM speed 8x CD-ROM drive Sound card DirectX 9.0b or higher compatible sound card DirectX DirectX 9.0b or higher NOTE: TCM 2005 requires a minimum of 280 MB free disk space after installation (plus additional space for save files) in order to run properly. If this space is filled before or during gameplay, the game may not function. 3. DirectX The program will not run unless DirectX is installed. For EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005, the minimum supported version of DirectX is DirectX 9.0b. To enable you to install it easily, DirectX 9.0b is contained on the first CD in the EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005 set. While the game is being installed, EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005 issues a message if you need to install DirectX 9.0b from the CD as well. If you wish to install DirectX later, simply insert the EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005 CD in the CD-ROM drive and go to the following CD directory and file: "\DirectX\DXSETUP.EXE" Double-click DXSETUP.EXE to start the DirectX 9.0b installation routine. DirectX and supported hardware We recommend that EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005 be run with DirectX compatible sound and video cards. Windows also has an "Add/Remove Programs" icon in the Control Panel that can be used to uninstall the game. Some files (like save games) will be left on the hard disk after the uninstall process. You will find them in your personal folder. 5. Memory requirements a) Memory requirements in Windows EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005 requires a minimum of 128 MB of RAM to run on Windows 98/ME. If more memory is available, you will experience better game performance in all areas. Since EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005 processes an enormous amount of data, a lot of memory can be more important than a fast processor, especially if you are playing with several leagues. Note: Windows 2000 and XP require 256 MB of RAM. Important: We recommend that you let your operating system automatically manage the amount of virtual memory. b) Running the game in Windows At Electronic Arts we strive to bring you the best in graphics, audio and gameplay; we are always seeking to maximize computer performance. Although we have made every effort to ensure that EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005 multi-tasks with other applications, we recommend that you shut down all other applications (including virus scanners) and run EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005 by itself whenever possible. IMPORTANT: When playing TCM 2005, you should keep the CD2 in your CD/DVD drive at all times. Failure to do so can result in serious problems, including being unable to continue the game. 6. Improving game speed There are several ways in which you can increase the speed of EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005: a) Select the "Pitch" sound effects mix in the Technical Options section on the Options screen. b) Ensure that Hardware Acceleration is set to the maximum level. This setting is located in the Control Panel in Windows 98/ME, and under Control Panel\Display\Settings\Advanced\Troubleshooting in Windows 2000/XP. c) Even relatively slow computers allow the game to be played at a much-accelerated rate if a lot of memory is available. 7. Configuration files The configuration files (high score tables, music settings, save games, custom training schedules, and other User-specific settings) are stored in a subdirectory of your personal directory. 8. MP3 player When choosing a custom directory for MP3 files, make sure that the full path name does not contain more than 59 characters. We recommend that you create a MP3 subdirectory of the EA SPORTS TOTAL CLUB MANAGER 2005 directory and copy your MP3 files to this directory. 9.
